Gridiron is an irreplaceable fusion of historic and contemporary. The community of 107 glass-sheathed residences has been constructed from the ground up while carefully preserving the brick facade of the 115-year-old iconic Johnson Plumbing building in Pioneer Square. The restored masonry exterior on the first floor will welcome vibrant retail surrounded by the warm brick and rustic beams. Within Seattle’s newest downtown condominiums above, Pioneer Square-based designer Jennie Gruss layered light, texture, and color to create a contemporary, neutral backdrop to the historic building surround and the urban energy outside.
